Beginning August 23, 2020: the 8am Sunday Mass will require facemasks to be worn, to facilitate the attendance of parishioners who are more concerned about contracting airborne illnesses.
If our school students are present at Mass, facemasks will be required, and separate seating sections will be managed by ushers.
We are complying with policies set by the Diocese of Springfield in IL and the State of IL. Read https://www.dio.org/coronavirus.
The Sunday obligation has been dispensed: it is not a mortal sin to stay home from Sunday Mass at this time.
Bishop Paprocki has given permission for us to resume public Masses.

Lectors may volunteer for Sunday Masses in MSP; read the Lector Guide (PDF).
EMHCs may also volunteer in MSP. Masks are required for EMHCs.

Pray the Holy Rosary with St. Mary’s clergy at 5:30pm Monday-Friday streaming on Facebook (no account needed). Join us as we invoke Our Lady of the Rivers and Our Lady of Guadalupe for deliverance from the coronavirus (read backround on Our Lady of the Rivers).
Confessions are still available in the church during the normal hours of Saturday 4-5pm & 7-8pm, First Fridays 4-5pm, and by appointment.
Anointing of the sick (especially the dying) just call the main number, 618-465-4284 and press 1 to ring the priests.

March 20, 2020: The Apostolic Penitentiary grants plenary indulgences pertaining to this crisis. Includes the stipulation that confession and communion only have to be desired, not actually completed at the time we seek the indulgence: “the will to fulfill these conditions as soon as possible.”

March 27, 2020 at noon Central (6pm Rome): Pope Francis holds prayer service with Urbi et Orbi blessing (normally only Christmas and Easter)
