First and foremost,
as parents you have a very pivotal role in your child’s
Catholic education. As you know, parents are the
primary educators of their children. The PSR
program exists only to assist you, not to replace you. The
values that we all share in faith and morals can only be
re-enforced and understood by a child through the parent’s
words and actions. For example, we cannot teach a child the
importance of prayer if the parents do not go to church. If
a parent does not incorporate the Catholic faith in their
family life, the parent will only be giving the child a
mixed message.
CLASS TIME:
GRADES 1st THROUGH 8th MEET:

throughout the year until early May. Holidays and special
events (Masses, Stations, etc…) are clearly noted in the

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP AREA:
Students will enter and
exit on E. 3rd Street at the Immaculate
Conception School doorway. This is a secure and monitored
entry and will be the only point to drop-off
and pick-up students.
ATTENDANCE AND TARDINESS:
Excellent attendance is required if the child is to profit
from the Program. If your child is absent, please send a
note to the teacher the following week stating the reason
for the absence. According to Diocesan policy, a child that
has accumulated more than 3 unexcused absences may
not be promoted to the next grade level the following year.
REPORT CARDS:
Children in grades 1-8 will
be evaluated in regards to the quality of work that he/she
produces in his/her homework, class participation, attitude,
understanding of content, and test grades. We ask that you
encourage your child to do the homework assigned each week
and to always display a proper attitude and good behavior in
class.
TEACHERS:
The PSR program is made up
of a team of qualified volunteer individuals who wish to
sacrifice their time and talent to share our faith with the
children of our parish. They are committed to our faith and
feel honored to teach the same faith to others. We kindly
ask that you respect and support the teachers of our program
who make this kind of sacrifice.
TRANSFER STUDENTS:
St. Mary’s PSR welcomes transfer students from other PSR
programs. If you have moved from another parish please
register and note from which parish’s program you are
transferring. Students transferring into grades receiving
sacraments for the first time (2nd, 8th)
must have an established history of PSR attendance.
If you have
any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me
anytime.
In Christ,
