RECENT BAPTISMS

Caleb Kaizer Grable

Son of Derek Kent Grable and Kathleen Kaizer

We welcome him as the newest member baptized into our Catholic Faith Family. May God bless him and his family as they grow together in God’s love.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

Focus: Jesus is the Good Shepherd who guides us on the path to life.

The central image of our Gospel today- the Shepherd with his sheep- may not be one that we immediately connect with.  We may not tend to see ourselves as docile sheep.  But this may be more acceptable if we truly embrace Jesus as our Good Shepherd and allow him to guide us on the path to life.

In today’s first reading, Peter proclaims Christ’s Resurrection; only in the name of Jesus can one be saved.  John’s letter reminds us that discipleship may include rejection, yet we can draw strength from our identity as children of God.  The Gospel contrasts the good shepherd with the hired hand.  Jesus teaches that he is our Good Shepherd.
